Everything the day needs
Coffin, hearse, family cars, tent and chairs, body preparation, programmes and the radio announcement. One office handles all of it.
How a Cudos funeral is arranged
You phone once. After that, everything below is our work, not yours.
We collect
Our team fetches your loved one from the home, the hospital or the mortuary, anywhere in the country, at any hour.
We register and prepare
We register the death with Home Affairs, prepare the body, and keep your loved one in our care until the day.
We carry it
Hearse and family cars to the house, the church and the graveside. Tent, chairs and decoration set up before the family arrives.
What we bring
Nothing on this list is charged for again on the day, provided your policy is active and the waiting period has passed.
The coffin
Chosen with the family at the Khubvi office. Every plan includes a coffin; upgrades are quoted before anything is ordered.
Hearse and family cars
One hearse on every plan. One family car on Basic, two on Standard, four on VIP.
Tent, chairs and decoration
Set up at the graveside and at the house before the family arrives, and taken down afterwards.
Programmes
100 on Basic, 200 on Standard, 300 on VIP. Printed with the photograph and the order of service you give us.
Radio announcement
The announcement placed on local radio so that family and neighbours know the date and the place.
The tombstone
Carved, engraved and installed. Included in every burial plan, with the unveiling arranged with you.
The parts nobody warns you about
Registering a death, moving a body between provinces and getting a burial order all take paperwork. We do that work for you, whether or not you hold a policy with us.
- Death registration with Home Affairs
- Notification of death (BI-1663) collected from the doctor or police
- Burial order for the municipality or traditional authority
- Transport permits when a body crosses a provincial or national border
- Storage in our care for as long as the family needs to gather
We will still take the call
Cudos arranges funerals for families who are not policy holders. Phone the office and we will quote the whole day before you commit to anything.
Ri kho ni thusa
If a death has happened right now, do not read further. Phone 066 089 9883 and tell us where you are. The what to do now page lists the four things that matter in the first hour.
